Meet Messiah Youssef-Green: 2024 FOSSI Scholar Attending North Carolina A&T State University

FOSSI: Tell us a bit about yourself.

I'm Messiah Youssef-Green, an 18-year-old mechanical engineering student with interests in digital graphics, editing, and programming. I'm excited to begin my academic journey at North Carolina A&T, where I’ll pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. My goal is to integrate my passion for digital artistry with my engineering knowledge to innovate and solve complex problems.

FOSSI: Who is a role model that has influenced you?

A role model who has deeply influenced me is my mother. As a singer, songwriter, and single mother who homeschooled me until 8th grade, she showed me the power of resilience and creativity. Her success as both an entrepreneur and parent inspired my passion for engineering and desire to create inventions that help others experience life as fully as she helped me do.

FOSSI: Share a few fun facts about yourself.

I love playing video games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Monster Hunter. I also enjoy gardening and was part of my high school’s gardening club, where we used the produce we grew to create homemade dishes. In addition, I enjoy public speaking and was responsible for delivering the biweekly announcements at my high school, often adding my own jokes and quips to help engage students in important messages.
