YPC-SAS Inauguration during MEPEC 2015

More than 150 prominent companies attended the third Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition (MEPEC 2015). The conference took place in Bahrain on 15-17 September, 2015. Ms. June Wispelwey, AIChE Executive Director, inaugurated the Young Professionals Committee of Saudi Arabian Section (YPC-SAS), the first YPC ever established outside the USA. The inauguration ceremony accommodated a crowd of hundreds, including industry CEOs and executive managements. 

She called upon the delegates to view the exciting young initiatives, highlighting the significant presence of AIChE in a strategic region, the Middle East. Ms. Wispelway, shared her enthusiasm about YPC's contagious energy, ambitious vision, compelling story, and exciting planned activities. 

The audience watched a short video highlighting the YPC program as follows:

• Vision: the YPC is a future-focused and growth-fueling body, serving as a platform for young chemical engineers.
• Mission: attract and engage young professionals, by providing life-long development and networking opportunities. Build a vibrant community cultivating professionalism, innovation and social responsibility to encourage the transformation of the industry for the benefit of humanity.
• The new YPC currently includes eight founding young officers from different major companies in the oil and gas industry such as Saudi Aramco, Sadara, AspenTech, and Guardian.
